Lamplugh v Moresby Football Match

Two teams, from Lamplugh, attended Moresby School to take part in an inter-schools’ football competition; it was a cold yet dry day, although the pitch was somewhat wet in places. All children played their best against some talented and tall children: Leighton took on someone twice his size with determination and succeeded in tackling him, on a number of occasions.

First team consisted of: Samantha, Ollie, George (GK), Josh, Ben, Amelia and Leighton: they play well: tackling, passing and maintained good possession on the ball; George had some good saves in nets and supported the other players perfectly.

The second team; Alfie, Ben, Holly, Amelia, Suilven, Josh (GK), Leighton, again worked hard against Moresby Years 5 and 6 team: they played their best and made some great attempts at scoring but Moresby’s keeper was ‘on the ball’.

Miss Lopez and John (coach) feel the teams played fantastically and the children should be proud of themselves for their effort and the hard work they have put in.

Also, as a school, we would like to thank John for all the time he gives to come into school to train with these children for both football and rugby: it is very much appreciated by staff and pupils alike.
