As part of our Islam topic, we looked at two different stories about Muhammad.
The stories were Muhammad and the Old Woman and Muhammad and the Crying Camel.
Here are some pictures of us rehearsing for our role plays, followed by the videos of the final performances.
Muhammad and the Crying Camel
On day the Prophet came upon a poor camel who was crying in great distress because it had been ill-treated by its owner. The prophet was shocked abut he calmed the animal down then went to find the owner of the camel. He was very angry with the owner and told him that he must treat the camel with kindness and not neglect him. He told him that Allah had placed animals in our care and that we must look after them. The owner paid attention to the Prophet's telling off and looked after the animal from then on.
Muhammad and the Old Woman
Once, the Prophet was travelling to the Mosque to pray and tell the other people how to live their lives. Each day he passed a sick old woman who screeched at him because she didn't like what he was saying. Nonethelesss , the Prophet was always kind to her and spoke to her with a smile saying 'Peace be with you'. The woman did not reply, only swept rubbish over him. One day, the Prophet passed the woman's house and she was not outside with her grumpy face. When he asked the neighbours where she was they told him that she was ill. Muhammad went straight into her house and gave her some food and water and swept her home. He looked after her until she was well. The old woman realised that he was very kind, and she changed her ways and became a good Muslim, caring for everyone.
