Welcome to our Nursery

Welcome to our Nursery.

Our Nursery is an exciting environment where children can experience many wonderful opportunities to learn. We have a large outdoor area that we can access anytime consisting  of a small and large yard, a field and climbing areas. Children are able to attend flexibly each week however, the children who attend at present attend on a regular basis. Due to our flexibility we are able to help should the need arise.

Our sessions begin at 8.30 am-1 pm (including lunch) and 1 pm - 3.30 pm and we also offer wraparound care.

Our curriculum allows each child to: count, recite the alphabet, use ICT, carry out phonics/literacy activities and maths activities age appropriate. We ensure where possible these activities are linked to children's interests. During the afternoons we either have History, Geography, Science or P.E. Our children are happy, kind and caring and welcome new children to the nursery. Our current P.E. session is on a Wednesday morning.

If you would like to look around please contact school to book an appointment.

Our teacher in Nursery and Reception is Miss Brown, and our teaching assistant is Mrs Hanlon.

It's Party Time!

A fantastic morning had by all the children who attended our end of term party morning. These kids have great moves on the dance floor. We celebrated coming to the end of term by playing party games; musical chairs, musical statues, pin the glasses on the sunshine and pass the parcel. The children made the day extra special.

Miss Lopez and Mrs Hanlon hope you all a very enjoyable summer; it has been a pleasure to get to know the children in Lamplugh Nursery and wish you all well in the future.

Our trip to the

Lake District Wildlife Park

On Wednesday 12th July; the nursery had their end of term trip to the Lake District Wildlife Park. The children, staff and parents had a great day exploring the park. We met the reptiles and got to handle guinea pigs. Thankfully the weather was in our favor; the sun was shinning. Miss Lopez and Mrs Hanlon would like to thank the parents whom joined us and helped to make the day extra special.

All pictures can be found in the gallery.

Come back Sun

The weather has changed so we deiced to make our own Suns to make it feel like summer. The children decorated circle of card with yellow and orange tissue paper and added yellow rays. We brought the sunshine inside to brighten up these dull, wet days.

Teddy Bears' Picnic

The children brought their teddies in to join us having our Teddy Bears' Picnic. Throughout the morning the children made cookies and their sandwiches for the picnic. We also went on a bear hunt; exploring school as the infants and juniors were away on their trip. Firstly we read 'We're going on a Bear Hunt'. The children had a really enjoyable day.

Here are some photographs from the day.

On the Farm

Welcome back to the Summer term at Lamplugh Nursery! We are really looking forward to starting our new half term with our new and interesting topic 'On the Farm'!

During this topic we will be exploring and learning all about farms! We will spend each week looking at different areas of the farm including the animals we find on a farm and how to look after them, the different machines on a farm and what they are for, the different plants grown on a farm, and finally we will look at how important farms are to us.

Alongside our topic we will have the opportunity to read lots of different books and practise our reading and writing skills. Some of the books we will be looking at include Farmer Duck, The Little Red Hen, Emma's Lamb and Beegu.

We will also be continuing to learn about different things in maths, learning to count, recognise shapes and thinking about different types of measures.
